Insurance & Risk Management Services


Insurance & Risk Management Services handles the placement and renewal of the university’s insurance policies, processes claims made against those policies and the university, and seeks to minimize exposure to liability through risk transfer, loss prevention, and business continuity planning. We are here to:

  • answer any questions you might have about the university’s insurance policies;
  • assist with the procurement of any insurance needs your unit might have;
  • assist with the review of insurance provisions in university agreements/contracts;
  • provide evidence of insurance coverage;
  • process, in coordination with the Office of the General Counsel, claims/demands against the university or its insurance policies; and
  • provide general risk management guidance and conduct or participate in root cause analyses (RCAs).
