About OARC
The Office of Audit, Risk & Compliance (OARC) helps the University of Kansas move forward with clarity and integrity. We work with the KU community to navigate a complex and evolving risk environment. We support the university by providing the community tools and insights including through assessing risks, reviewing internal controls, and promoting compliance practices that help KU meet its goals. Our work encourages responsible stewardship and helps the university maintain trust with its community.
Established in 2021, OARC integrates the universities audit, compliance, risk management, privacy, global security, and policy administration functions under a unified framework let by the Chief Risk Office and Vice Chancellor for Audit, Risk & Compliance. This structure allows us to provide coordinated services across all campuses and affiliated entities. This alignment elevates KU's ability to meet regulatory obligations, manage institutional risk, and support the university's goals in teaching, research, and service to Kansas.
